Baby Shower at Carsten’s Mill

I am so excited to share our second baby shower with you today. About a month ago we celebrated Baby Reynebeau with our Milwaukee friends and last Saturday we got to celebrate with all our friends and family in our hometown.

I truly LOVE event planning and my family let me take a pretty large part in planning the shower of my dreams, and I was completely blown away how everything came to life.

The shower was held outside of the Appleton area, at an old restored feed mill called Carsten’s Mill in Brillion, WI. The inside was absolutely breathtaking, the cream city brick walls, restored wood floors, chandeliers, and the twinkle lights. Carsten’s Mill was the perfect backdrop for the shower.

So regardless of our shower being in October, I really wanted the event to feel bright and fresh with lots of whites and fresh florals.  Of course, my in-laws stepped in, being the owners of Riverside by Reynebeau Floral and they designed the perfect cascading floral arrangements and decor to compliment my ideas.

Now some of my ideas were a little off the wall, but I love a good challenge. I really wanted the gift opening area to have a whimsical backdrop accompanied by a vintage piece of furniture. So I put the word out among family, and as luck would have it one of Romy’s cousins came across the vintage sofa we used at a rummage sale this past summer! Now, she wasn’t the most comfortable piece of furniture, but she was very pretty looking! My other off the wall idea was incorporating a balloon garland into the setup. My sister-in-law took the challenge and created a beautiful 30 foot white and gold balloon garland.

Aside from the decor and aesthetics, it was really important to me that my guests have a fun experience at my shower. I get baby shower games are tradition, but for me, I wanted my friends and family to not feel awkward about playing silly games. So, Alexis, of Yield Bakehouse, gave me the perfect idea, panting cookies! Not only was it a fun and different activity, but it also doubled as a hostess gift for everyone to bring home.

Yes, all the pretty details of the event were everything that I had planned and dreamed for, but honestly just having all of our family in a room together supporting Baby Reynebeau was the best part of the whole event. They all went out of their way to make sure we felt extra special and gifted us with some amazing things!

But, this day could NOT have been pulled off without the amazing help of my Mom, Mother-in-law, and two very special sister-in-laws! I am so lucky to have all of them in my life, and can’t wait for my son to have two amazing grandmas and aunts in his life.
